"An illuminating, moving night of theatre."
—Time Out London.
One of the most acclaimed new plays in recent years comes to Charlotte after mesmerizing audiences in both the West End and New York City. THE PRIDE, by Alexi Kaye Campbell, is a groundbreaking play that alternates between 1958 and 2008, featuring three individuals in parallel times, both, past and present, living similar yet radically different lives.
Examining changing attitudes toward sexuality over a period of fifty years, The Pride is an exploration of intimacy, identity, and the courage it takes to be who you really are. As it explores fate, love, fidelity and forgiveness, the show asks questions about contemporary life (gay and straight), but doesn’t presume to answer any of them concretely.
Past and present worlds grind together and melt apart, yet the future and its promise of sexual liberation remains ever elusive. Winner of the 2010 Olivier Award for Best New Play.
Directed by Glenn T. Griffin.
For mature audiences.

ANNOUNCING OUR 10TH SEASON!
Queen City Theatre Company is excited to announce its 10th Season in Charlotte, NC! The theatre company founded in 2007 by Glenn T. Griffin and Kristian Wedolowski performs as a resident company at the Duke Energy Theatre @ Spirit Square with the mission of presenting theatre that celebrates the many different races, religions, gender identities and sexual orientations that exist in Charlotte, NC and the world. With its 10th season, QCTC continues to create theatre that explores the human experience and challenges audiences with innovative and groundbreaking staging of new works and theatre classics.
“While putting together our 10th season, I wanted it to be a tribute to our best works and the connection we established with our audiences” says Artistic Director Glenn T. Griffin. The concept of the season is to look back as we go forward, an exploration of different times in our human evolution. QCTC’s 10th season is bigger and better than ever, exploring new themes and genres, but always encouraging and celebrating diversity of thought, inclusion and acceptance. Each piece looks at who we were and who we are, and also where we are going as people and society. Have we changed for the better or do we keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again? We will bring our audiences through a journey of laughter and emotions as we together, for 10 years in a row, keep enjoying the unique form of art that is live theatre. Come join us!
